30REC
FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES
GO-FORWARD
PLAN
|
|
- New
Recreation – The article starts a town managed process for Wayland to
add a much needed multi-sport and activity Recreation Center on
Route 30 (“30REC”) with indoor and outdoor playing fields
and an indoor ice skating facility for youth, school, adult and
senior users.
|
|
|

|
|
- No
New Taxes, Expenses or Budget Liabilities – 30REC will be
privately funded and operated, requiring no taxpayer dollars to
build or run. The town would lease back only the facilities that its
recreation department budget allows, regularly
reviewed by the town’s Finance Director and Finance Committee.
A public/private partnership model offers Wayland an opportunity
to gain lease, rent and tax payments estimated in the $50,000 -
$100,000 range.
